Worth the Wait!!

Welcome Miss Lucy Grace to the family!!

On the 24th of February we welcomed our little daughter into the world - a birthday gift to her Aunty Laura and a tremendous blessing to our little family!

10 days over naturally brings about all sorts of emotions and tests one's patience!  So thanks to One who had it all under control, she arrived safely and naturally and perfectly healthy.  Just like Jack she was born the morning before we were scheduled for an induction.  Seriously we are just so thankful for the way everything turned out.

The big brothers are thrilled with their 'baby sister called Lucy'.

Kingston Triathlon

In anticipation for the birth of Number 3 - we thought that making commitments to be elsewhere might bring the little bundle on........ so off we went to Kingston for the annual triathlon - because Matt had been training so hard!

First stop when arriving in Kingston is, of course, a quick dip at the beach

This was the extent of Matt's training preparations for Sunday's event.

At the triathlong, Jack and Toby proudly wearing Matt & Laura's swimming caps

And our champion arrives!  Louie smashing her big bro (sorry Matt)

Will waiting for his Dad........ and waiting...... :)

And here he is - not a bad effort considering his wheels for the event:)
We are of course very proud of his efforts!
Well done Matt & Louie!
But it didn't bring the baby on....

A few little happenings around the place - as with many of the family, it's the beginning of a new year at school or kindy - or even high school.  With much coaxing and bribery that Toby will be at Kindy, Jack has agreed to go back..... it's not that he didn't enjoy it - it's just that in his mind, as he'd done a term at the end of last year - he'd 'done' kindy.
Anyway, he returned last Wednesday and has been loving his time.  Will is not quite sure what to do with himself at home while Jack's not around - though won't be long before another little character will be entertaining him I'm sure.

Will & Jack on Jack's first day at Kindy for 2013

And again.... this time showcasing his bag.... it has Spiderman on it, which i've been assured in the world of Jack is 'cool'

An excavator came to have a sleepover on the weekend before doing some work on Monday.

 Jack 'driving'

Will's turn - next Christmas present perhaps?

Around the house - A beginning of what I'm hoping will be a weekly habit - Sunday night is the boys night to cook tea officially..... Not sure how long it'll stick, but it's worth a go right?
This week - Fish and chips - no complaints here!

Jack absolutely loves our new pup Pip, have made great little mates and he seems to have her under control too which is good.  Couldn't resist snapping a few pics of this little man and his mate.

Til next time

Updates - Round 3

August - September

So - captions will be brief - so take note - I am almost officially updated........

After our visitors left in August the builders turned up and finished off the reno's...... well almost, but good enough really - New Doors in the entryway - great storage!!

An even better hiding place!!!!

Yay - more visitors!!

Mims and Craig were up doing some jobs in Bordertown and came out for a visit - was sooooo nice to see them again and catch up on life.... the boys of course loved the chance to play with 'Uncle Craig'
Cool tower

Almost as cool as my pick here

When Mim's visits - there's always a masterchef scene....
which Jack of course loves to be part of

In Action

Random.... a boy in a bag

and another boy.... cute... that is all

And no.... that's not my room - just a random shot I thought I'd throw in - how i'd 'like' my room to look

August ends...... and so does winter thankfully, so not only do we welcome SPRING but also Jack's birthday...... and some very welcome visitors!! Nanno & Gdad made their way down for a few days to spend time with us - has been two years, so we had some very excited little lads.

 3 in 1
So along with the visit of Nanno and Grandad, we also get to celebrate the little man's 4th birthday..... and Pa's 60th birthday!...... and Nanno's ___ birthday!!! (a lady never reveals her age:) )

Nanno helping Jack with his presie's

and more...

and more!
Are there themes for birthdays like there are wedding anniversaries?  It seemed Jack's 4th was the year of paper - with books, colouring books, painting books and dot to dots - perhaps just the age where he can actually do them - very grateful though, as we had none, and now we have plenty to keep him busy... big blessing, perhaps I'm the really grateful one:)

Trying to get a nice one of Jack with the dot to dots....

second attempt...
And there we go - loving his presies

Matt pumping up the new hop ball
Will wearing Nanno's shoes, just for kicks

And of course all birthday boys need a cake.... So here we have it
Jack's Robot Cake

Thank goodness he changed his mind from 'yabby cake to robot cake' within days before his birthday.
Those of you who know my culinary talents would know how much I appreciate straight lines - I had a hard enough time working out how to get the icing to stick!  I guess it's worth it when you see their faces light up

Taking it all in with the crew

Happy Birthday Mr Strong:)

A few more shots of the boys with their special guests before they headed off

Nanno introduced Jack to Enid Blyton, with the Magic Wishing Chair... now we're on the hunt to find the magic faraway tree... Ah the things childhood's are made of

Getting in his last hugs with Gdad

The crew

And again:)
So blessed to have you visit - thanks for the memories!!!

KINDY BOY!!
Now he's four - he's off to kindy and couldn't be more ready.  He certainly changed his tune once he'd tried it out - beforehand he was determined he didn't need to go, and therefore was not going to go... Now it's highlighted on the social events for Jack every week.

 This is his proud look
Honestly.... who does this kid belong to?

DUBBO
While the main reason for the trip to Dubbo was for the Heinrich's get together, let's be honest - for the kids it was aaaaallll about the Dubbo zoo, and getting to go with their cousins

No really, I'm ok... I've seen giraffes now, can we move on?

not that excited about the giraffes.... it's just the standard response when a camera is pulled out in front of him

as Grandad would say 'a few of the relies'

Ostrich's

zebras

Gilapagas tortoises - big fave for Will

Will with the beautiful Lexie

you decide

Jack & Lex in great discussion about something they were about to get up to, love it how well they all get along!

And of course some photos of the gathering crew - the extended Heinrich family clan joining together to celebrate Pa's 60th

Julz & Pa's cakes with the kidies eagerly awaiting!!

Happy days!
Stay tuned for our Rockhampton photos - where the boys go wrestling crocodiles!
